Maritza Argueta
Founder
I started my path to education when I was a teacher in Guatemala. When I moved to Chicago I wanted to continue to work with children but in a different setting. I studied in St. Augustine college where I earned my associate degree in Early Childhood Development. I worked in kindergartens, pre schools as well as a 3rd grade assistant teacher at our Lady of Mercy.
Motivated by education of children and working with kids, I knew it was my duty to help the development of children. Now I am putting my part in today's generation because I know that when our children learn young their futures are brighter. Here at First Steps Daycare we put your children's future first.

Working with kids has brought me not only joy, but a clear understanding in the importance of early childhood development. We want our kids to develop all their skill sets including physical, social/emotional, and language domain. Each equally important to prepare them for their future.

Here at My First Steps Day Care we love to build a loving atmosphere so our children look forward to coming back the next day. In my background I have a B.A. in Business Administration and have completed 15 hrs of early childhood development required by the state and CPR Certified.

Being fortunate to be part of a reality that once was a dream. This has given me the passion to put my best efforts forward in providing a good experience for our children. We hold our staff to the highest standards in providing exceptional education to guide your children to their future.
I have my B.A. in accounting and have been working with the daycare since it opened in 2012. I work alongside the owner to coordinate strategies and develop procedures that support the daycare's mission. I also manage the daily marketing and finance operations.
